Preseason Is Set | Cittadella News
On July 14, 2021 by Jake IovinePreseason dates and matches are practically all set. Cittadella will head to Lavarone to play five matches against teams from Serie C and Serie D. There will also be a ceremony in the center of the city before the team travels.
Piazza Pierobon will be the sight for the opening ceremony for the 2021/22 season. The ceremony is set to take place July 23rd at 9pm local time, in the heart of Cittadella. All players, coaches, and staff will be there before they travel up north for preseason. The new kits made by Mizuno will also be unveiled, as well as travel apparel by Nine in the Morning.
All matches and times were confirmed earlier today for Cittadella’s preseason.
All games are scheduled to kickoff at 11am EST. The last game against Virtus Vecomp will start at 10:30am EST.
Shortly after the preseason camp, Cittadella should be playing their first Coppa Italia match. With the new competition format, there were rumors that the granata would be playing Monza on August 12th, but nothing has been confirmed. The first Serie B matches will begin on August 21st. No fixtures have been released.
There has been activity in the mercato as well. Frank Tsadjout, the AC Milan loanee who spent last season with Citta, is now loaned to Pordenone. Cittadella did not want to renew the loan, and now the striker will play with the Neroverdi next season, while still on loan from Milan. The 21 year old striker played 33 matches last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists, though it wasn’t enough to convince the Cittadella coaching staff. We wish Frank the best of luck at Pordenone!
Brescia is leading the race to sign midfielder Federico Proia, according to trivenetogoal.it. Federico was one of Cittadella’s key players last season, as he was a real threat going forward. Starting virtually every match last season, Proia picked up 9 goals and 2 assists, and was a pivotal player within the team. It will definitely be a big loss if he goes to Pippo Inzaghi’s club, however, Stefano Marchetti stated that there would be a backup if we eventually decide to sell Proia. Currently, no contract has been signed by Proia and Brescia, but there has been agreements made, according to trivenetogoal.it.
