Alessio Vita
On August 10, 2021 by Jake IovineWe have reached the Roman midfielder, Alessio Vita. Going through the ranks of Torino’s academy, Vita has been at Cittadella for two seasons so far.
Alessio was born in Rome on March 16th, 1993. At Torino’s Primavera, Vita mostly played out on the wing, preferably on the right. At 19 years old, Vita made the move to Monza, who were in Serie C at the time.
He accelerated onto the pitch in his first season as a pro. Making his pro debut against Giacomense on September 2, 2012, Vita played in 36 games for Monza that season. An exciting attacking minded player, Alessio scored seven times in his first season, helping Monza reach the promotion finals. Up 2-1 against Venezia with minutes left, Monza gave up two late goals, sending Venezia to Serie B.
Vita stayed at Monza for two more seasons. He scored 17 goals through 2013 and 2015. In his last season with Monza, he scored 8 goals and handed 4 assists in just 19 games. Sassuolo liked what they saw from him, and was signed in January of 2015. Immediately, he was loaned to Vicenza in Serie B. During that half a season with Vicenza, Vita played in 21 games, making Serie B playoffs. They lost over two legs in the semifinals to Pescara.
Around November of next season, Vita was injured and out for almost two months. Coming back in the later stages, Vita was able to play more, however it wasn’t as good of a season for Vicenza as it was last year. Finishing mid-table, the Biancorossi weren’t able to be promoted. Despite this, Alessio has 6 assists and two goals on the season.
The 2016/17 season was not a season to remember. Playing 31 games, Vita only assisted twice, and the team were relegated that season.
His loan expired that summer, and Sassuolo lost interest. The club sold Vita to Cesena where he would play for the next season. Still in Serie B, Vita mostly started for the club, scoring once and assisting twice. Cesena finished mid table, however, it turned into a nightmare. The club went bankrupt and were sent to Serie D, having to start all over.
Vita was once again sold that summer to FeralpiSalò in Serie C. He played a big part of the club season once again. Playing in 42 games as well as picking up 5 goals plus 4 assists, FeralpiSalò fell short in their hunt for promotion.
After dropping down from the second division to play in Serie C, Vita was signed by Cittadella in 2019, making his way back to Serie B.
At Cittadella, Vita showed why he belongs here. Appearing in 60 games in two seasons, he is now playing more as a center midfielder. A consistent player at Citta, Alessio enters his third year with the club, looking to bring back his explosive attacking style of play he is good at.
