Cittadella travel to Umbria for the second time this season as they face Ternana for another Saturday afternoon match.
Edoardo Gorini’s side earned a wild three points last weekend, completing the second half comeback from 0-2 down against Reggina. Giovanni Crociata scored twice and assisted the game winner to Giuseppe Carriero to help lift the Granata to victory. They’ll be hoping for another win against a Ternana team who have only won three times in their last 16 games.
Ternana lost 3-0 last weekend to Umbrian rivals Perugia, leaving question marks going into Saturday’s match. Le Fere have dropped to 11th in the table after being in the promotion playoff zone for a large part of the season, yet still only remain two points off it heading into the weekend.
It’s been a slightly different story for Cittadella since the start of the new year, gaining 11 points out of a possible 18 since the resumption of the league. Goal scoring has been a problem for Gorini’s side this season, however recent performances should bring optimism to Cittadella fans following back-to-back home games where three goals were scored.
January acquisition Giovanni Crociata has given Cittadella life so far in the second half of the season, scoring four goals and getting one assist in his first six games at the club. Alongside him, Mirko Antonucci has provided 8 goals so far this season, as both look like a deadly combo in the attack.
Midfielder Antonio Palumbo has been the heart of the attack for Ternana this season, contributing to 4 goals and 6 assists for Le Fere. Upfront is Anthony Partipilo, who has also tallied four goals this season.
Cittadella has failed to beat Ternana since 2016, with their last win coming on Matchday 2 of the 2016/17 Serie B season. Since then, the Granata have gone 0-2-4, where one of those losses includes a 5-1 defeat in 2018 at the Liberati.
