The promotion race coming down to the wire for Cittadella Women.

Sofia Kongouli scored her 18th goal of the season on the stroke of halftime to edge the Granata to within a point of 1st place. With only three games remaining in the league, it’s all to play for with Cittadella, Lazio, and Napoli all fighting for the top two spots.
Kongouli has been Cittadella’s most lethal striker this season, and scored her 18th of the campaign just before halftime with a delicate chip over Arezzo keeper Nardi.
The Granata would hold onto the victory in Central Italy. Meanwhile, Napoli and Lazio were playing in the capital in a crucial match for the promotion race. Napoli came out victorious 1-2, and take top spot away from Lazio with three games remaining.
These results mean Cittadella stay in 3rd, but close to gap to just one point between them and Napoli in pole position. Cittadella still have to face Napoli on the penultimate match of the season, which will decide both teams’ faith.
Next Sunday Cittadella return home to face Ternana, who sit 8 points below them. Elsewhere, Lazio travel to Cesena, while Napoli play Arezzo at home.
