After winning their opening match of the season, Cittadella face promotion contending Parma on the second matchday of the year.

After being relegated from Serie A in 2021, Parma are trying to get back into the top flight on their third attempt. I Crociati lost in the semi finals of the promotion playoffs last season against eventual winners Cagliari, putting them in Serie B for a third straight season.
Notable summer signings for Parma include Ternana striker Anthony Partipilo and Rangers forward Antonio-Mirko Colak. Main attacker Dennis Man will reportedly miss the match on Saturday due to injury. The Romanian winger scored six goals and two assists last season for Parma.
