The first of two games between Cittadella and Cremonese will take place on Friday night at the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato.
After a 2-1 loss against Pisa last weekend, the Granata are back at home to face Cremonese. The two teams will meet twice in the next few days, as both were drawn against each other in the Coppa Italia Round of 32. The next match will take place in Cremona on Halloween.
But first it’s a clash in Serie B: both teams are coming off losses last weekend in league play. Currently, Cittadella and Cremonese hold the same record after 10 games this season, going 3-4-3 in the league.
Cremonese striker Massimo Coda has been a problem for the Granata in the past years. Coda has scored eight times in his 14 career games against Cittadella. The striker leads Serie B in goals scored at the moment, tallying seven goals so far.
Despite holding an 8-8-6 record against Cremonese, the Venetian side hasn’t beaten the Grigiorossi in the last three attempts, dating back to September 2020. Head coach Edoardo Gorini has yet to beat Cremonese in his managerial career, losing twice in the 2021/22 season.
