Gorini: “For me, Sudtirol is the hardest team to play right now.”

Cittadella head coach Edoardo Gorini spoke to the media before the Granata‘s Saturday afternoon match against Sudtirol.

Here are some key notes from the Cittadella boss.

How do you prepare the squad for the match after the international break?

“The goal has been reached because we are all healthy and available, for the first time this year I’m happy with the team selection. During this week we are concentrated on this match because it’s a difficult and particularly tough game to approach.

We tried studying a strategy, so we will see tomorrow if we can put it to work on the field.”

Two wins in a row for Cittadella, what can you aspire for tomorrow?

“The game tomorrow is very important because after two wins in a row you climb up the table, and now close to the play-off zone. To continue like this is very important.

For me, [Sudtirol] is the worst team to play right now. This is because we are off of two victories which can mentally give you ease while the game will be a hard battle. On the field we have to show our DNA and it has to show in the players as well.”

Do you expect Sudtirol to play with something extra given four losses in six games?

“I expect a team that will be here until the end and a team that closes down spaces. I also expect them to do what they’ve done in the last two and a half years. They will be angry given they’ve lost four out of the last six games.

They have an emotional coach which will give them character, so I expect them to come here and fight just like last season.”

Cittadella face Sudtirol at home on Saturday, kickoff at 14:00 local (8am EST).
