Cittadella grind out win, holds on for fourth straight win.

Cittadella claimed a fourth straight victory on Saturday after a narrow win against Feralpisalo in Piacenza.

Edoardo Gorini’s side were coming off three wins in a row going into the match against the last place side. Gorini had never won more than three games as a manger going into the weekend. Luca Pandolfi’s first half goal was enough to see out a hard-fought match against Feralpisalo.

Expected to win, Cittadella came close through young attacker Claudio Cassano on multiple occasions. It was Pandolfi who scored his third goal in three straight games who got the Granata on the board in the 34th minute. A flicked-on header from Filippo Pittarello fell right to the feet of Pandolfi, who made no mistake five yards from goal.

The ex-Juve Stabia striker will be wondering how he didn’t score more than once in the match. Pandolfi came inches away from doubling Cittadella’s lead after rounding keeper Samuel Pizzignacco, only for his shot to be cleared off the goal line by Bruno Martella.

The hosts looked dangerous throughout the match on the counter attack, even outshooting the Granata 14-9. Cittadella keeper Elhan Kastrati had to make four saves on the afternoon.

Another three points for Gorini and co means Cittadella stretch their winning streak to four games. The win also moves the Venetian team to 7th place on 25 points. Cittadella returns home next weekend to face Cosenza at the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato.
