Gorini wants a winning mentality for Cittadella against Sampdoria.
On January 27, 2024 by Jake IovineCittadella head coach Edoardo Gorini spoke to the press on the eve of the Granata‘s home match against Sampdoria.
The match is set to kickoff at 16:15 local time at the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato. Gorini’s side has won five straight at home, while Sampdoria enters the match winless in the last four games. Gorini will hope his Cittadella side can do the double over the Blucerchiati this season.

Squad updates:
“For the first time, everyone is healthy. I’m very happy and everyone is called up for the match.”
On the expected full stadium and special kits being worn:
“I’m happy about it. With a full stadium, you can say the players express good football, you can say the people enjoy coming watching when you play Sampdoria.
The team is enjoying themselves now, but for me the most important thing is the team gives everything on the field. It’s a game that I’d also like to play in. A game in front of a big crowd against a team of great pedigree, it’s clear that we want to win.”
On Sampdoria:
“Sampdoria is a squad of quality. We all know the problems they have had, but they still have players of great quality. Last week, until the penalty given, they were in the match against Parma. They also came back from 3-1 against Venezia for a short while.”
On Cittadella’s home record:
“It’s certainly a positive aspect, but I believe we need to have a mentality–whether it’s home or away–to always win. If we want to stay in the playoff zone, we need to have this kind of mentality.”
