Pavan likely not out for long at Cittadella, reports say.

Nicola Pavan’s injury doesn’t seem as serious as originally thought, according to recent reports from Cittadella.

According to Diego Zilio from Il Mattino del Padova, a contracture in the right thigh was found during tests conducted on Monday. The central defender will likely miss Cittadella’s upcoming match on the weekend against Parma, but will not be sidelined for a long period of time.

Pavan was substituted with an injury last Saturday against Brescia following Gabriele Moncini’s goal. Initial worries from Cittadella indicated that Pavan could likely miss a few weeks due to the injury. After Monday’s results, however, the injury is likely not going to have a major effect on the center back’s season.

Zilio also reported that defenders Federico Giraudo and Domenico Frare could be able to be back in the squad, having been left out in last weekend’s trip to Brescia. Center back pairings against Parma could see Matteo Angeli back in the starting eleven alongside Stefano Negro, or Frare taking Pavan’s role in the backline.

Until last Saturday, Pavan was the only Cittadella player to have played every single minute of the Serie B season. The center back from Thiene has made a total of 138 appearances since joining the club in the summer of 2019.
