Gorini gives thoughts on Feralpisalo match with play-offs in sight
On April 26, 2024 by Jake IovineCittadella head coach Edoardo Gorini spoke on the eve of the Granata‘s home match against Feralpisalo on Saturday.
Gorini’s side sits one point behind the play-off zone with four games remaining in Serie B after a goalless draw with Sudtriol last week. Feralpisalo currently occupy 19th place and sit five points below the relegation play-out spots. Marco Zaffaroni’s side is looking to make a late surge up the table to help Feralpisalo avoid relegation in the club’s first ever season in Serie B.
Here were some key takeaways from Gorini on Friday morning in anticipation of the Feralpisalo match.
Squad updates:
“There’s no big updates for injuries. We all know about Baldini who is out, but Stefano Negro is also going to be out. Danzi is still recovering and will skip the match, and Salvi will be a game-time decision. Frare is also out.”
On the match against Feralpisalo:
“We know this is an important match. Feralpisalo will come here to get points and to win. They are a team that can beat teams away from home, like Cremonese and Modena. They have a positive way of playing as they have been good since the new year. Like I said, it’s not going to be an easy match and we have to give them great respect.”
On the race for play-offs:
“We don’t play for draws. The way we’ve been playing has given us some stability after that stretch of negative results. I believe we can achieve anything that we want, meaning we believe that we can concede less goals. Like I said, the objective is always to win and we have to start well in tomorrow’s match.”
