Tronchin signs for Cittadella for next season
On June 14, 2024 by Jake IovineCittadella have announced the signing of midfielder Simone Tronchin from Vicenza on a free transfer.
The 21-year-old midfielder will join the Granata on a three-year contract with a two-year option to extend, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
“I have been following him since his debut at Virtus Verona and now this year at Vicenza,” Cittadella sporting director Stefano Marchetti said to PadovaOggi. “Now it’s up to him to work and grow, because he really has important room for growth and can give us something more in terms of physicality, temperament and technique.”
Tronchin began his career at his hometown club Montebelluna in Serie D, before moving to Vicenza. The midfielder spent two seasons on loan at Virtus Verona, where he made 54 appearances for the club. Tronchin played 32 games in all competitions for Vicenza last season, reaching the playoff final before losing to Carrarese.
“He is a complete athlete, with experience as a key player in Serie C at just 21 years old,” Marchetti said. “He is attentive, tactically he is intelligent, in short he is a ready young man. He’s a purchase that I like.”
Tronchin joins Edoardo Masciangelo as the new arrivals for Cittadella this summer.
