Rabbi joins Cittadella on free transfer from SPAL
On July 31, 2024 by Jake IovineCittadella have announced the signing of forward Simone Rabbi, joining the club on a free transfer from SPAL.
The 22-year-old forward becomes the sixth newest signing of the offseason for Cittadella. Rabbi joins the Granata days after Filippo Pittarello completed a €600,000 transfer to Catanzaro.
The forward began his career at Bologna, where he won the Primavera Supercoppa in 2019. Rabbi made four appearances for the senior squad in the 2020/21 season before spending the next season on loan at Piacenza. In the last two seasons, Rabbi made 57 appearances for SPAL across Serie B and Serie C, scoring five goals and assisting twice.
Rabbi will join Cittadella as the team finish their set of preseason matches on Saturday against FC Bassano. The Granata officially begin their season on Aug. 9 where they’ll face Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia Round of 64.
