Cittadella expected to announce new coach on Monday

Gorini was relieved from his coaching duties on Friday morning following three full seasons at the club. A record defeat last Saturday against Sassuolo was enough for the Granata to sack the boss after eight games in Serie B.
“Sacking Gorini was the most difficult and painful decision in my life,” Marchetti said on Friday following Gorini’s sacking. “He’s like a brother to me. I’m convinced that my story with Gorini doesn’t end today. Now we need to be true to the core.”
A report by PadovaSport suggests that the new coach for Cittadella is likely to be Alessandro Dal Canto. The 49-year-old coach last managed Carrarese for a year and a half in Serie C, obtaining a 28-13-21 record at the club. Other coaches on the radar include Michele Serena, Massimo Pavanel and former boss Roberto Venturato, the report said.
“Around Sunday, I will find the agreement and Monday there will be the presentation for the new coach,” Marchetti said. “Now it’s time to make the most coherent choice for Cittadella, with very specific characteristics.”
