Rabaltai Ultras set to make return to the stands after nearly two years
On October 9, 2021 by Jake IovineOn February 22, 2020, Cittadella played in front of Rabaltai, the ultra group of the Granata, in a 3-0 win against Juve Stabia. Nearly 600 days later, after many days of waiting, the green light has been given. Rabaltai will be back in the east stand for Citta’s next match against SPAL on October 17th.
Cittadella has allowed fans back inside the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato since this August. Although limited capacity, the spectators added much needed energy and excitement to the match and players. However, one thing was still missing. The Rabaltai supporter section was still empty.
Due to limited capacity with social distancing rules still being applied, Rabaltai weren’t allowed in their normal spot in the east curve of the stadium. Though the spectators did the best they could when making noise, the exclusion of the ultras were noticeable.
On Thursday, October 7th, Rabaltai released a statement regarding their return to the stands:
“Considering that from the next matches the percentage of filling stadiums will pass 75%, thus automatically causing the gap caused by the checkerboard position to lapse, and also considering the loosening of regulations visible in all the stadiums in Italy, we believe that we are in the conditions to finally be able to return to the Tombolato not only as spectators but as a support force for our colors and to be the twelfth man in field.
We invite all of those who want to join us for the next match against SPAL on Sunday October 17th and to buy a ticket for the East Tribune, in that part of the seats that we will finally return to occupy!
The wait is over, it’s time to return as the protagonists, TUTTI ALLO STADIO, TUTTI CON I RABALTAI!”
The long wait is certainly real for Cittadella supporters. None of us could’ve imagined that nearly two years after what seemed like a normal league match in February 2020, that Rabaltai still haven’t made an appearance in the stands since.
It has been a chaotic last season and a half, but Rabaltai is finally back! We will see you next Sunday at home against SPAL!
