Late goal sees Cittadella defeat Luparense in final preseason tune-up

Cittadella defeated local Serie D side Luparense 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in the club’s final preseason match.

In front of around 1,000 fans at the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato, forward Michael Fabbro scored the only goal of the afternoon in the 88th minute.

“The important thing was to maintain consistency in our results,” Fabbro said after the game. “We’re working hard, so maybe we’re lacking a little clarity since we’re still preparing. This is the week the Coppa Italia starts, so things are getting serious.”

The match was the fifth and final preseason friendly the Granata played this summer. The team will face Atalanta U23 in the first round of the Coppa Italia Serie C next Saturday.
