Cittadella Women return to winning after Brescia win.

The three points gets Cittadella back to winning ways following last weekends draw against 1st place Lazio. With only five games remaining, the Granata are joined by Napoli and Lazio in a three horse race for promotion.
Laura Peruzzo scored her second goal of the season 15 minutes into Sunday’s match, when her long range free kick struck the crossbar and into the net, giving Salvatore Colantuono’s side the lead. Cittadella have yet to lose a match this season when scoring the first goal, finishing games 18-2-0 when striking first.
The second half would see Cittadella try and secure the lead with Caterina Ferin receiving a ball at the center of the box, but her shot was saved and gathered at the goal line by Brescia keeper Sara Ferrari.
Ten minutes before the 90th, Sofia Kongouli netted her 14th goal of the season to seal the match. The Greek international perfectly placed her quick touch and shot to the far post, doubling the Granata‘s lead on the day.
The exclamation point came into stoppage time when Sofia Zannini got her first goal of the season. The ball came across the face of goal for an easy tap in by Zannini, following a good run and cross by Veronica Benedetti on the counter attack.
Cittadella are still on track for promotion as they control their own faith going into the final five games. They are back at home next Sunday as they face Ravenna in Tombolo.
