Parma and Cittadella meet on Saturday afternoon at the Stadio Ennio Tardini for the 13th Matchday in Serie B.
Cittadella has never beaten Parma in their all-time six meetings, with Parma winning three and drawing three. Their latest meeting came in March in a 1-1 draw between the two sides, with Stanko Juric scoring a late goal for I Crociati. Parma had a chance to win it in the last minute of the match with a penalty, but Juan Brunetta faltered from 12 yards.
Both teams have been rattled with injuries as of late. Cittadella will be without much of their attacking powers as Enrico Baldini and Raul Asencio are both out with injuries. Simone Branca will serve his last game of suspension while Tommaso Cassandro has a one game ban for yellow card accumulation.
Parma top scorer Roberto Inglese is back in the squad for Saturday’s game which also happens to be on his 31st birthday. Romanian international Dennis Man is also back from an injury. The highly experienced Franco Vazquez is expected to start for Parma.
The Granata‘s form has arguably been both good and bad. In the last five league matches, Cittadella have only given up one goal, but have settled for three 0-0 draws. Scoring has been a problem for Edoardo Gorini’s side as of late, and are tied for the second lowest goals scored in the league after 12 matches played.
Despite recent losses, Parma sit in 6th place and only three points from the automatic promotion zone. Cittadella are at mid table in 12th, and can get within a point of the playoff spots with a win at the Tardini.
Saturday afternoon will be the last match for both teams before a two week break, starting back up on the weekend of November 26th. This match is a great opportunity for both sides to climb closer to the positions they have their eyes set on.
