Sunday afternoon will see Cittadella travel to Ferrara to take on SPAL for the 28th match of the season.
Following a goalless draw with Brescia during the week, the Granata have only lost one game since the start of the new year, going 4-3-1 since January.
It’s been a different story for SPAL in recent times, with their last win coming on January 14th. Since then, the side from Ferrara have lost five games and drawn two. SPAL have also changed managers three times this season, going from Roberto Venturato, Daniele De Rossi, and now currently in charge, Massimo Oddo.
The last three meetings between these two clubs have all ended with a 0-0 draw. Cittadella have failed to score a goal against SPAL in their last four meeting, with the last time coming in a 2-0 win with goals coming from Mario Gargiulo and Federico Proia.
Cittadella will have to deal with the absence of Giovanni Crociata, who will miss the trip to Ferrara due to a muscle strain picked up against Brescia. Crociata has been a game changer for Edoardo Gorini’s side in the second half of the season, scoring six goals and assisting one.
Similarly for SPAL, veteran midfielder Radja Nainggolan has suffered a calf injury, and will be out for 15 days. SPAL will be without their experienced midfielder, as the club sits in bottom of Serie B entering the weekend.
