Pavan’s late equalizer gives Cittadella deserved point.

Cittadella were left frustrated all game until Pavan’s late header off the corner kick gave the Granata a solid draw on the road.
Similar to the Parma match last weekend, Cittadella fell behind early in the 6th minute after Marco Nasti headed in a perfect cross by Giuseppe Sibilli.
The Granata continued to search for an equalizer in the first half, and came closest to leveling the score in the 32rd minute. Claudio Cassano found himself space at the top of the box, lining up a left footed strike that struck the left post.
Edoardo Gorini’s side tallied more shots than Bari in the first half, and managed to get two on frame, something they hadn’t done last weekend. Cittadella continued to push early on in the second half, coming close through Cassano again via nice play through the middle of the field. The ex-Roma youngster’s shot was blocked by Bari’s defense once again, letting no way through for their opponents.
Cittadella tried all game to break Bari’s resistance, and it finally came on the stroke of the 90th minute. Andrea Tessiore’s corner kick was met by an unmarked Nicola Pavan, who’s powerful header could not be kept out by Bari keeper Brenno, equalizing the score at 1-1.
Gorini’s side could’ve easily won the match, but will have to settle for a draw on the third game of the Serie B season. Cittadella are back at home on Sunday night for the Venetian derby against Venezia.
