Pandolfi enjoying life at Cittadella, has big ambitions this season.

Cittadella forward Luca Pandolfi has been enjoying life with Cittadella recently after scoring three goals in three consecutive matches.

The 25-year-old Napoli native joined the Granata this summer after a great season with Juve Stabia in Serie C. The striker scored six goals and recorded five assists last season before joining the Venetian side in August.

Pandolfi is in hot form at the moment for Cittadella after scoring again on the weekend, this time against Feralpisalo. He has been involved in at least one goal involvement in Cittadella’s last four games, helping the Granata continue their winning streak.

The striker was interviewed by Diego Zillo of Il Mattino di Padova, talking about his recent form and his expectations for this season with Cittadella. Here are some takeaways from the interview.

When you arrived, you said that this was the right club for you. Is this still true?

“Ever since they called me for the first time, Marchetti made me feel important, even though I wasn’t coming off a great season. Instead, he treated me like I was coming off a 20-goal season.

With saying that, I have already scored three goals. I would like to score at least 15, after having surpassed my record of six in Serie C. I have to stay focus and keep my feet on the ground.”

When did that “click” happen for you?

“It happened against Sudtirol. I gave a good response to Gorini after he called on me. For me, I have to give other qualities, like rhythm and physicality, and I believe I gave them that confirmation.”

Gorini said you are the most complete attacker on the team and has the most room for improvement. What do you think of that?

“Gorini is one of those guys that knows football. I look to put myself ready in everything that he asks for. I try to improve myself every day to keep my impression for him, and the rest just stays as words.”

Now you guys are in the play-off zone. Has the objectives changed at all?

“The ‘salvezza’ is always the first objective. A high-achieving moment can make us all dream and think about greater things.”
