Gorini wants “better concentration” for the match against Brescia

Cittadella head coach Edoardo Gorini spoke before traveling to Brescia for Saturday’s match at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti.

The Granata have lost two back-to-back games after going on a nine game undefeated streak. Cittadella has not lost to Brescia in nearly seven years, going 12 matches without defeat against the side from Lombardy.

Here were some words from Gorini on the eve of the match against Brescia.

On rumors of Pittarello leaving in the winter:

“It’s clear that when a request comes, you appreciate it a bit. You can say he’s been playing well this season. Since he was at Feralpisalo, where he won the league, you have an offer from a team that is fighting relegation. It was a request we appreciate, but I’ve seen enough.”

On last weekend’s loss vs Sampdoria:

“It’s a bit on everyone. It was an error from the players, concentration and marking players. It was a series of errors that I’m sorry for because we could’ve prevented it.

It was a game that we were playing well: going up a goal and almost scoring the second. We have to have better concentration against Brescia.”

On Brescia:

“It’s a ‘hot’ match. It’s like a playoff. It’s a big opportunity for them to go into the playoff zone. Since Maran arrived they’ve been doing well until the game in Cremona. They are a Maran-like team: very aggressive, solid and do not concede much.

I expect a difficult game. Brescia is historically it’s a difficult place to play, so we need to exploit a little bit of everything from this taboo.

On Giraudo’s injury and squad updates:

“Giraudo has a muscle injury that is less serious than originally thought. He won’t be playing this weekend, as well as Frare who has some minor issues with his adductor level.”
