Gorini wants same attitude from Como match against Bari on Sunday

Cittadella head coach Edoardo Gorini spoke to the press before the Granata‘s last home match of the regular season against Bari.

Gorini’s side made it difficult for promotion chasing Como on Wednesday, even taking the lead with 20 minutes remaining. However, the Lombardy team came back to win 2-1, putting Cittadella at risk of missing the promotion playoffs.

Bari has not won a match in Serie B since Feb. 17, sliding into the relegation zone with two games left. The Biancorossi will be looking to climb out of the drop zone against a team they haven’t lost to since 2018.

Here were some comments made by Gorini on the eve of Cittadella’s clash with Bari.

Squad updates:

“We recovered Salvi in respect to the previous match. The rest is similar to the last match: I have to assess some players because we’ve played three games in a week. Danzi also returns to the squad.”

On the team attitude:

“The most difficult part of this season–and also one of my flaws–is keeping the same attitude. It’s not easy to do, but it’s an obvious thing that we struggled with even in the first half of the season where we didn’t keep the same attitude for 90 minutes. Tomorrow we need to keep the same attitude that we had in Como and not in the games with Ascoli or Feralpisalo.”

On Bari:

“I didn’t expect Bari to be in this position at this point of the season. The game tomorrow will be nervy for them, but for us we have to go for the win because our (playoff) objective is still possible and three points can go a long way.”

On Claudio Cassano and Luca Panolfi:

“Everyone wants to play, but there are moments in the season where there’s a lot of variables with physical and mental levels of players for every game. This change of play that we did maybe limits Cassano a bit, but I’ve seen him and he’s ok. It’s an important game for him because he’s from Puglia, so I’ll think of my options.

Pandolfi is the same: he had a shoulder problem. He suffered a little this season after the change, but when he plays he’s always in action.”
