Gorini prepares for “technical” match against Catanzaro

Cittadella head coach Edoardo Gorini spoke to the press before the Granata‘s second home match of the season against Catanzaro.

Gorini’s side is undefeated in the last three games which included two road victories against Brescia and Modena. Cittadella looks to win two straight games for the first time since December 2023 in the third all-time meeting with the Calabrian side.

Here were some key notes from Gorini in Friday’s press conference in anticipation of the Catanzaro match.

Squad updates:

“The team trained well in these last weeks. There’s always some curiosity playing in a game after the international break but we trained and recovered what we could.”

“Stefano Negro and Elhan Kastrati are out for the game, as well as Davide Voltan and Simone Tronchin. Andrea Cecchetto has recovered so he will be ready.”

What a win would mean for the team and standings:

“Wins always give us enthusiasm. It’s still too early to talk about the future as it’s only the fifth match, but it’s important to keep adding points. I hope a lot of fans will be there tomorrow and we have to give everything to get the victory.”

On Catanzaro:

“They are a team that likes to have the ball like they did last year with Vivarini. Caserta is a coach that likes to play similarly, both in attack and in the middle of the pitch. I expect a technical match because they have a lot of players who can make the difference.”
