Bari poses difficult challenge for Cittadella in recent times

Winning against Bari in 90 minutes has posed a difficult task for Cittadella in recent years, both at home and on the road.

Cittadella’s win percentage against Bari is the third lowest against any current Serie B team, winning 14.3% of games all-time against the Puglian side. The Granata are 3-9-9 all-time against Bari, with their last victory [in regular time] dating back to Jan. 21, 2017.

Bari and Cittadella have played each other 20 times in the Serie B regular season. The only exception came in 2018, where both clubs met in the first round of the Serie B promotion playoffs at the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato. After a tense 120 minutes and a brace from Paolo Bartolomei, Cittadella advanced with a 2-2 draw due to being the higher seed.

On the road, Cittadella’s record against the Galletti isn’t any better, recording a 1-3-6 record at the Stadio San Nicola. Cittadella’s sole victory in Bari came in the club’s first game back in Serie B after being relegated in 2015, winning 1-2 on Aug. 27, 2016.

Only against Catanzaro and Sampdoria has Cittadella recorded a lower win percentage from all teams currently in the second division. Cittadella has won 10.0% of games against Sampdoria, tallying a 1-4-5 record against the Ligurian side. Catanzaro is the only team currently in Serie B that the Granata have never beaten, though both sides have only played each other three times.

Cittadella and Bari will meet each other on Nov. 24, where the Granata will be looking for their first victory since 2016 at the Stadio San Nicola.
