Capradossi joins Cittadella, seeks to improve club’s defensive problems

Defender Elio Capradossi was officially unveiled as a Cittadella player on Monday, signing as a free agent.

The 28-year-old defender joins the Granata in hopes of turning around the club’s defensive struggles. Cittadella has conceded 22 goals in 14 games this season, including five given up in the last two matches.

Capradossi, born in Uganda, came through the Roma youth academy before making his professional debut with Bari in the 2016/17 season. The central defender spent three seasons with Spezia and played 34 games in the Aquile‘s historic promotion to Serie A in 2020. He also spent seasons in Serie B with Cagliari, SPAL and most recently, Lecco.

Cittadella hosts Juve Stabia next Saturday at the Stadio Piercesare Tombolato, where Capradossi could potentially make his club debut. The Granata sit in 19th place in the league as December approaches.
